Your Minimum Requirements

To use eyeReports you must have the SQL version of OfficeMate® and Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher*.

*Excel 2010 Starter, preloaded on select Windows 7 systems with Microsoft Office 2010 Starter, does not run the macros eyeReports requires. You must activate the full version to use eyeReports.

How to see if you have the SQL version of Officemate®

1. Open OfficeMate®
2. Click Help
3. Click About
   • If the information next to "Database" says "Microsoft SQL Express", you have the SQL version of OfficeMate.

• The "About" screen also shows your Server Name and Database Name. We need this information to set up your reports.
  • We set up your Server Name and Database Name in the reports you purchase.
  • This advance set-up is required for our Excel workbooks to connect to your data and populate the reports.

How to find your version of Microsoft Excel

1. Open Excel
   • The version number is displayed on the start-up splash screen.

How to Determine Your SQL Server Authentication Method

If your database was set up SQL Server Authentication, you will need the SQL Server Login Name and Password to open an eyeReport after installing. The SQL Login Name is only required the first time. The SQL Password is required each time the eyeReport is opened. The person who set up your database will know the SQL Login Name and Password.

Here's how to find out if you have SQL Server Authentication

On any computer that has Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio:

1. Click Start and then Programs and open the SQL Server Management Studio.
2. If the Authentication box value is WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION, you have Windows Authentication and do not need a Login Name and Password to use eyeReports.
3. If the Authentication box value is SQL SERVER AUTHENTICATION, you need to provide eyeReports the Server Name and will need to enter the Login Name and Password the first time you open an eyeReport on the computer. After the first time, only the SQL Password is required to open and use the eyeReport.

SQL Server Windows Authentication - You do NOT need a User name and Password to open eyeReports

SQL Server SQL Server Authentication - You need the SQL Server Login Name and Password the first time you open an eyeReport. After the first time, you need the Password to open an eyeReport.

What does having SQL Server Authentication mean for using eyeReports?

eyeReports have to connect to your database to populate the workbooks, and SQL Server Authentication means you will need the server Login and Password after installing and opening any eyeReport the first time. Only the Password is required any subsequent times you open an eyeReport.

You probably don't want to give this important information to all staff members. Here are strategies for letting staff members use eyeReports without giving them the Server Login and Password:

• Have the person who has access to the SQL Server Login and Password open the eyeReports on the staff computers. The first time a report is opened it makes a connection to your database and requires the Server Name, Login Name, and Password. Subsequent times opening the report on the computer the report only requires the SQL Password.
• Once open, leave the eyeReports open on the staff computers. Staff need only Refresh the data (there is a Refresh button). The report does not need a password to Refresh data.
• Many practices use a backup version of the database to run analysis reports. Use eyeReports on the backup database where the Server Login may not be sensitive data.
